On behalf of our client, the leading web agency in Greece with international activity, we are currently looking for a talented Technical Director to join their growing team in Athens.

 

A day in the life of the Technical Director

 

The Technical Director works closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to develop strategies, set technological direction, and ensure the efficient execution of geoinformatics projects. The role involves managing internal teams, coordinating external partners, and overseeing project execution and client communication—from initiation to completion. This includes fulfilling contractual obligations, ensuring technical deliverables, and handling the delivery, invoicing, and payment process.

 

Your day-to-day

 

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize productivity through project management tools.
  • Support the use of software repository management and progress tracking systems.
  • Design strategies for the continuous professional development of staff in new technologies, tools, and best practices.7
  • Oversee and guide software development teamsgeoinformatics engineers, and mobile mapping specialists.
  • Integrate time-tracking tools to measure performance and manage resources effectively.
  • Support teams in understanding technical project requirements and planning accordingly.
  • Create and monitor project plans using project management tools (e.g., Asana).
  • Review and ensure the technical accuracy and clarity of deliverables, in accordance with project specifications, technical proposals, and contracts.
  • Communicate with clients to understand requirements, resolve technical issues, and present project progress.
  • Organize training sessions for clients at the end of each project.
  • Organize collaboration through shared project monitoring platforms (e.g., Asana).
  • Implement time allocation tools for efficient time management on complex projects.
  • Track resource allocation and goal achievement.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geoinformatics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in technical leadership, software development, or geospatial technologies.
  • Proven experience in project management and team leadership within a technology-driven environment.
  • Strong background in geoinformaticsGIS software, or mobile mapping technologies (preferred).
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor teams of developers, engineers, and technical specialists.
  • Strong strategic planning abilities to optimize workflows and technical productivity.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with clients, executives, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to oversee external partners, ensuring compliance with company standards and best practices.
