On behalf of our client, a global leader company in Oil & Gas industry, we are currently looking for a Field Civil Engineer, to join the technical team in Komotini, Greece.

A day in the life of a Field Civil Engineer

You will be responsible for managing the discipline activity during project execution ensuring that Client/project procedures are correctly applied by site departments and Subcontractors and that project deliverables are issued according to the schedule and ongoing site activities.

Your day-to-day

  • Acknowledge and comment contract/project specification/drawings contents and related technical discipline annexes; in case of discrepancies, mistakes or deficiencies, develop a list of clarifications/comments to be submitted to the FEM and subsequently to Site Manager
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, procedures and method statements including applicable standards
  • Attendance to Project Meetings (kick off and project review meeting) as well as meeting with Client and Subcontractor if requested by FEM
  • Produce the Discipline project deliverables and quantities list, including checking requirements by the other discipline
  • Act as checker and/or approver for all Discipline deliverables (specifications, datasheets, drawings, reports, etc.)
  • Verify and follow-up the discipline documentation to carry-out the activity by Company and/or Subcontractor
  • Make Technical Query to Client, if required, and reply to Subcontractor’s Technical Query
  • Verify the engineering documents of Subcontractors and Vendors
  • Ensure adequate flow of design and constructability information between team members in any departments and to the Client and Subcontractors
  • Provide assistance during procurement, construction and commissioning activities
  • Ensure that working procedures are followed and that compliance with relevant Quality Systems is achieved
  • Ensure deliverables quality in term of technical content, compliance with design criteria, international standards and contractual requirements
  • Detect, monitor and clarify of design discrepancies during construction phase (quantities and equipment dimensions)

What you'll need

  • Master/Polytechnic degree in Civil Engineering (as well Chartered Engineer, A-levels + 5 years’ study)
  • Civil Engineer with a minimum stay of 3-4 years in the role being able to preside individually the full life cycle of a EPC project
  • Fluent to read, write and speak in English
  • Consolidate knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of Civil Engineering and accurate competences of techniques and tools.
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, planning and organizing ability, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, leadership qualities and efficient team management skills, adaptability and stress tolerance
