Back End PHP Developer

On behalf of our client, a global leader in third-party services provider, specializing in the sector of Technical Audits, Inspections, and Certifications, we are currently looking for a self-driven Back End PHP Developer, to join its IT department at the company's HQs in Athens.

Your day-to-day

• Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins to support unique project requirements
• Leverage Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to create custom content fields and flexible layouts for end-users
• Use WordPress CLI for efficient site management, maintenance tasks, and automation of repetitive tasks
• Work with GitHub to manage version control, and collaborative development processes
• Write efficient and reusable code, following best practices for WordPress and PHP development
• Develop, test and debug integrations with external APIs to enable enhanced functionality within WordPress sites
• Use Linux Terminal to manage server environments, automate deployments and troubleshoot issues
• Optimize backend performance and database queries for improved site speed and scalability
• Troubleshoot complex backend issues and provide solutions to ensure reliable, secure, and optimized WordPress installations

What you will need

• 4+ years of proven experience as a Backend Developer with expertise in WordPress and a portfolio of custom-developed projects
• Proficiency in PHP and solid understanding of WordPress core functionalities and best practices
• Hands-on experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to enable custom content structures and dynamic layouts
• Strong command of GitHub for version control, pull requests and collaborative code management
• Experience with WordPress CLI for automation, efficiency, and advanced WordPress management
• Linux Terminal proficiency, with an understanding of basic commands to manage servers and streamline development workflows
• Experience working with APIs to fetch, display and update external data within WordPress
• Familiarity with database architecture
• Strong debugging skills and experience troubleshooting backend issues.
• Experience in WordPress Multisites
