QA Test Automation EngineerOn behalf of our client, an award-winning FinTech - InsureTech company with international presence, we are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join their highly empowered team of dynamic and talented professionals. The company is based in Athens but you will have the opportunity to work from anywhere in Greece on a 100% remote basis!
A day in the life of a QA Engineer
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the web portal and backend systems, which include Java, Kotlin, APIs, databases, Kafka, and RabbitMQ. As a QA Engineer, you will collaborate closely with engineers and stakeholders to understand business requirements, develop test cases, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software. More specifically, you will need to focus on the following pillars:
Testing Activities
- Design, create, execute and maintain manual test cases
- Develop and execute automated test scripts
- Perform functional, regression, and integration testing
- Identify, report, and track bugs through resolution
Automation & Framework
- Contribute to test automation framework development
- Maintain existing automated test suites
- Create reusable test components
- Implement best practices in test automation
Team Collaboration
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, planning, retros)
- Work closely with developers for bug verification
- Collaborate with Product team to understand requirements
- Provide testing estimates for user stories
- Review test results with team members
What you will need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in software testing
- Strong manual testing fundamentals
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, or JavaScript)
- Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, or similar)
- Working knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured or similar)
- Understanding of SQL and database concepts
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Knowledge of bug tracking and test management tools (Jira, TestRail)
- CI/CD understanding and experience
