DevOps EngineerOn behalf of our client, a growing software development company focusing on Big Data Analytics, we are currently looking for a self-driven DevOps Engineer, to drive its software development team to the next level.
A day in the life of a DevOps Engineer
As a DevOps Engineer, your day-to-day tasks will involve developing and maintaining software applications, managing infrastructure, and implementing cloud computing solutions. You will work with Linux systems and databases to ensure smooth data operations.
Your day-to-day
- Participate in the development process and architecture of every project to manage and automate tasks
- Setup and maintain web and application servers on premises, AWS, Azure, Google and customers’ private clouds
- Work closely with the development team to set up their projects and provide support for any issues that may arise
- Identify and fine-tune server configurations based on performance
- Monitor all server statuses and respond to any host/service alerts
- Investigate and resolve software and infrastructure related issues
- Setup and manage offices’ network infrastructure
- Explore and evaluate new technologies and tools in order to improve processes
What you will need
- 3+ years of relevant experience in application development or enterprise systems infrastructure
- Experience with Linux administration, hardening and customization, especially on Debian based distributions
- Familiar with CI/CD tools and methodologies
- Previous experience with configuration management and automation tools
- Experience in installing, configuring and maintaining services such as nginx, MongoDB, MySQL etc.
- Experience with version control systems
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash and Python
- Analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
